On April 14, 1832, Alexander M. McIver, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1243.44 to Ralph King and William King, doing business under the firm name R. & W. King in Savannah, “the following named negro slave, eight in number, viz. Jacob, Charles, Toney, Sary, Mary, Bella, Kate and Linda, together with the future issue & increase of the female slaves.” Witnessed by Jos. S. Pelot, J.P. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 11, 1832.
