On December 30, 1840, in Savannah, Chatham County, James S. Bradwell, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note to George W. Anderson and Brother “the following named slaves with the issue of the females, to wit, Betty and Tenah…” Witnessed by Joseph Law, W.B. Fleming, Not. Pub. Recorded on February 1, 1841, by E. Way, Clerk [in Liberty County]. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied in full December 28th 1841, W.B. Fleming, Agent. Recorded this 14th February 1842, E. Way, Clerk.”]
