Enslaved Persons Named: March
On May 7, 1840, R & W King released “the negro slave named March” as collateral on a promissory note from W.E.W. Quarterman after payment of $350 on account for his original note of $1500. Quarterman had originally used “six negroes” [not named in this deed] to secure his note dated February 20, 1839 and recorded in Book L folio [page] 77 and 78. Release recorded on May 12, 1840, by E. Way, Clerk.
