Enslaved Persons Named: Nanny, Sharper, Hercules
On February 1, 1840, the executors of John Lambert’s estate (Thomas Mallard, John Dunwody, Wm. Q. Baker, Ezra Stacy and William Jones) sold to William B. Fleming for $1000 “the following named Slaves with the issue of the females Nanny Sharper and Hercules,” pursuant to the authorization granted them by an Act of the Georgia Assembly to sell John Lambert’s estate. Witnessed by M.L. Jones, S. Spencer, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on April 10, 1840, by E. Way, Clerk.
