Enslaved Persons Named: Louisia [alt: Louisa]
On May 7, 1825, John Martin and Jane Martin, both of Liberty County, appeared before Inferior Court Justice Robert Hendry to warrant that in December 1821, “as well as these deponents recollect,” they were at the house of Alexander Martin when he “called up & delivered to his Aunt Mrs. Mary Dreggers a small negro girl named Louisia [alt: Louisa] & the said Alexander Martin then & their [SIC] gave the said girl to the said Mary Dreggers as her property.” Recorded on October 30, 1838, by E. Way, Clerk.
