On March 1, 1855, Joseph Way and T.W. Quarterman used as collateral on a promissory note for $405 to Thomas Mallard, Ezra Stacy, Wm. Q. Baker, William Jones, and John B. Mallard, Executors for John Lambert, deceased, “the following property to wit Wilcher a boy about twelve years of age and a child named Rebecca about two years of age and free of all incumbrance other than this mortgage.” Witnessed by C.B. Jones, A.J. Hull. Recorded on April 21, 1855, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk.
