At a meeting of the Honorable the Justices of the Inferior Court held at Riceborough April the 22nd 1805
….
On the application of Mr. William McGowen, the natural and legal guardian of Amarinthia Elliott McGowen, setting forth that a legacy of three hundred dollars has been left her in the last will and Testament of Elizabeth Bennett and praying that the same ?Legacy? be paid into his Hands as her legal representative, and it appearing to the Court from the Statement of Mr. Elijah Lewis who drew the said Will, that it was the intention of Mrs. Bennett, testator as aforesaid, that the said Legacy should be paid as soon as the debts of said Estate were discharged, and the said William McGowen having given as security for the due Application of said Legacy a bill of sale to the said Amarintha his ward as aforesaid for a negro boy named Nellow to her and her Heirs forever.
Ordered that the Executor Mr. John Winn do pay the aforeasaid Legacy into the Hands of the said William McGowen guardian as aforesaid.
