On May 9, 1862, Stephen S. Perry, Liberty County, used as collateral on a debt of $71.20 to Simon A. Fraser, Liberty County, “a negro woman named Jane about eighteen years of age and yellow complexion…” He warranted that she “is a slave born, that she is in sound health, both of body and mind…” Witnessed by ?.W. Farmer, W.P. Girardeau, Not. Pub. Recorded on May 28, 1862, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk. [Marked as “Satisfied in full, S.A. Fraser. Entered this 28th October 1864. Jesse Brewer, C.S.C.L.C.”]
