Enslaved People Named: Adaline, Richard
On April 20, 1861, Edward J. Delegal, Liberty County, used as collateral on a debt of $750 to Peter W. Fleming, guardian of Alice . G. Walthour, both of Liberty County: “the following named negro Slaves with the issue of the females (viz): Adaline [or Adalina], aged about twenty seven years, Richard aged about twelve years.” Witnessed by Wm. M. Stevens, Josiah H. Law, J.S. Fleming. Probated by J.S. Fleming on April 23, 1861, by Jno. B. Mallard, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on May 17th, 1861, by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
