William West to John Jones and Joel Walker, Trustees for grantor’s wife Hannah West. Bill of Sale conveying “…a certain negro wench by the name of Tenah and all her issue…,” dated May 2, 1798, in consideration of her having released all her dower rights in tract of land known as Cabbage Point tract sold by West to Lachlan McIntosh. Witnessed by Elizabeth Jones and Joseph Jones. Recorded with the conveyance, is an affidavit dated May 3, 1798, by James Jones in which he states he was present at the time the deed was made to Cabbage Point land to McIntosh by said William West, and that the latter’s wife Hannah West then and there refused to sign same with him unless he would make her a title to a certain slave girl. Sworn to before Jacob Wood J.P.
