On March 26, 1859, in Riceboro, Liberty County, Joseph Jackson purchased “a negro slave named David” for $800 from James L. Jackson. Witnessed by F.R. Lyons, W.B. Trask. Probated by Joseph Ashmore, J.P. on 27 August 1859. Recorded on 16 February 1861 by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
