On March 15, 1858, Thomas I. Lyons, Bryan County, used as collateral on a promissory note to Thomas F. Alexander and C.C. St??? copartners using the company name Alexander & S???, Bryan County, for $2686.54:

  • “ninety six acres of land, part of a tract granted to Cyrus Bird and the location of a store that was previously occupied by Thomas F. Alexander and C.C. State;
  • a 190-acre tract granted to Thomas Lyons adjoining the previous tract;
  • a 200-acre tract granted to Thomas I. Lyons;
  • a 300-acre tract granted to Richard Harvey; a 50-acre tract granted to Hiram Waller;
  • all the land held by Thomas I. Lyons in Bryan County except 71 acres where his residence was;
  • “one negro boy by the name of Frank aged about twenty four (24) years;
  • two brown mare mules; 50 head of stock cattle marked with staple swallow fork in one ear and smooth crop in the other ear branded with letter F; one two horse waggon and one sorrel horse mule and one sorrel mare mule; * plus the merchandise now in the store formerly occupied by Alexander and State.”
