State of Georgia, Liberty County } Agreement between F R Lyons of said County & state of the 1st part and the freedmen & women whose names are hee unto signed. The Agreement witnesseth that F R Lyons party of the first part is to control the plantation on which said Freedmen are to work requiring from each full hand two days faithful labour in every week until the entire crop is harvested and prepared for market, for which the said F R Lyons agrees to furnish each full hand four acres of high land and a proportion of swamp land for rice to cultivate for their own use and benefit. The said F R Lyons will furnish team and implements to cultivate his own land that he may plant, the Freedmen & women to furnish team and implements only for the land they may cultivate. The Freedmen & women further agree to feed and clothe themselves and pay their own doctor’s bills. This contract to expire as soon as the entire crop is harvested and prepared for market.
