Enslaved People Named: Tenah, little Dick

On April 22, 1806, Jonathan Bacon, Liberty County, sold to James James for $500 “a Negro wench named Tenah and her Child named little Dick formerly the wife of Jim Goulding…” 

Written below this deed: “I relinquish all right and title to the within named Wench named Tenah and her Child named Dick. Witness my hand this 2nd May 1806. [Signed] Jas. James”

Witnessed by Thomas Mell. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 3, 1806.
