Enslaved Persons Named: Jenny

On January 35, 1791, Gilbert Harrison, inn keeper of Liberty County, gifted to his daughter Mary Harrison, a minor, “one certain negroe wench named Jenny,” via her trustee, Charles Irvine, planter of Liberty County. Harrison specified that Jenny would be held for his use and benefit during his life and after his death for the use and benefit of his wife Elizabeth Harrison. Witnessed by John Blackstock. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on September 28, 1792.
