Enslaved Persons Named: Pompey, Phillis
On June 6, 1791, Charles Irvine, Liberty County, sold to Artemas Baker, planter and executor of Elizabeth Powell, for 100 pounds sterling “two Negroe Slaves named Pompey and Phillis” in trust for John Robert and Ann Darling Irving. Witnessed by Staff’d [Stafford] Somersall, John Maxwell. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on November 1, 1791.
