Enslaved Persons Named: Jane, Moses
On February 22, 1831, Ann Axson, Liberty County, “for & in consideration of a certain negro woman named Jane, drawn by M. L. Jones on the part of his wife, at a recent division of the Est. of Saml [Samuel] J. Axson, to me fully & forever secured, do secure & make good to the said M.L. Jones, his heirs & assigns forever, a negro man named Moses, which property I do warrant & defend unto the said Jones, his heirs, etc, forever.” Witnessed by Saccharissa E. Jones, Richard F. S. Axson. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 3, 1831.
