Enslaved Persons Named: Abram, Sue, Delia

On October 26, 1827, Robert P. Burton and his wife Amarintha E. Burton [formerly Amarintha E. Robarts] traded a “certain negro man named Abram” for “a certain negro woman named Sue, and her child Delia,” owned by Rebecca Shepard. Sue and Delia were to be held in trust for Amarintha by her guardians Joseph Quarterman and William Jones, per the terms of their marriage contract. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on [date illegible].
