Enslaved Persons Named: Violet
On May 1, 1827, E. [Edward] Way, D.S.L.C. [Deputy Sheriff, Liberty County] sold to James Laing for $286.50 “one female slave by the name of Violet, sold by me under execution levied in due form of law, as the property of, and belonging to, the estate of John E. Fraser Esqr dec’d.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 2, 1827.
