On September 19, 1859, S.B. Rustin acknowledged receipt from Providence Lanier, guardian of “the minors of L. Lanier,” $114.52, “it being the amount in full due H.J. Shuman and Emily P. Shuman as heirs of said estate except one heir’s part in a Negro man Moses at the Guardian’s death, which amount or interest in said estate has been purchased by the undersigned.” Signed by S.B. Rustin. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on August 10, 1860.
