On May 26, 1860, John Jones, Chatham County, gifted to John Nevills, as trustee of his wife Eliza Nevills and her children, Bryan County, “all those negroes named ?Feaner? aged about thirty-five years Elen [Ellen] about fourteen years of age, Peter about seven years of age, Edie about six years of age all of dark complexion.” Witnessed by E.B. Sutton. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on June 15, 1860.
