On August 21, 1858, in Bulloch County, Wm. [William] E. McElveen, guardian of Moses I McElveen, minor heir of James H. McElveen of Bryan County, deceased, acknowledged receipt of $1446.60 “and the following negro slaves viz. Bob Mariah Liza & David,” as well as his interest in his father’s estate’s land. This represented McElveen’s final claim on his father’s estate. Witnessed by Allen J. Gibson. Signed by Adam Jones. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on October 9, 1858.
