Enslaved People Named: Moses
On January 22, 1858, Henry I. [or J] Shuman and James Futch, Bryan County, gifted to Providence Lanier, Bryan County, “all their interest or claim they have or entitled to as heirs of the estate of Lewis Lanier in a certain negro man named Moses about thirty five years of age” during her lifetime. Witnessed by Jas. L. Lanier, S.S. Lanier. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on August 29, 1859.
