On December 1, 1857, Gordon I. [or J] Goodson, Bryan County, used as collateral on a promissory note to William Strickland, Bryan County, for $252 “the following property – to wit a certain negro fellow named Albert of dark complexion about twenty seven years of age.” Witnessed by H.J. Blitch. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on December 5, 1857.
