Enslaved People Named: Dorah, Dennis

On May 27, 1858, John P. Ulmer, Effingham County, sold to John C. Ulmer for $350 all his claim to the estate of Ann M. Ulmer, deceased, as follows, “one negro woman named Dorah about sixty years of age of yellow complexion, also one negro boy named Dennis to be slaves for life.” Witnessed by Wm. [William] Thomson. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on February 3, 1859.
