On August 6, 1856, John W. Baley, Bryan County, gifted to his mother, Elizabeth Baley, as well as for the sum of $100, all his right to all the estate “consisting of lands, negro slaves, and plantation stock, and tools,” that he was entitled to as one of the heirs of his father John Baley, late of Bryan County, for the term of her natural life, and to revert to him after her death. [NOTE: Name also seen as Bayley, Bayly] Witnessed by J.C. Tyson, Wm. A. Wells. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on December 8, 1856.
