George Cubbedge Esq’r
Sir,
I demand of you the Negroes Hannah, Lucinda and Isaac the said Negroes being illegally detained by you.

I do certify I have this day served this notice on Mr. George Cubbedge Sheriff of Bryan County

Personally appeared before me S.W. Allen who being duly sworn saith he did serve the within notice on George Cubbedge then acting Sheriff of Bryan County.
Sworn before me this 11th February 1814
Benjamin Burton J.P.
Personally appeared before me Mr. Samuel W. Allen who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he did by the request and in behalf of Joseph Stillwell present and tender to Luke Mann then Sheriff of Bryan County the full amount of all money for judgement with their interest and cost in his hands against said Stillwell which the said Sheriff refused giving no essencial [sic] reason and the said Stillwell did then demand the Negroes that he had been sold to satisfy judgements in the Sheriff’s hands of which the said Stillwell was the purchaser the above tender was within thirty days after the sale.
