1801 Bryan County Estate Settlement (Mann)

State of Georgia, Bryan County } Whereas my grandfather John Mann left me by will two negroes, viz. Frank and Peg his wife and their increase as also a tract of land in the County of Washington containing two hundred and eighty seven & 1/2 acres, which said negroes and increase & also said tract of land the directive by said will to be delivered up to me Thomas Mann on my attaining to the age of twenty one years, now know all men by these presents that I the said Thomas Mann having attained to the age aforesaid do hereby acknowledge to have received from Alexander Dicks qualified executor of Luke Mann deceased, the above named Negros Frank and Peg his wife and their children, as also the abovementioned tract of land, I do also acknowledge to have received from said Dicks as Executor aforesaid the sum of four hundred dollars in full of all bonds mortgages claim or claims or demands whatsoever against the estate of my Father up to this date, on account of all the property of every description as left to me by my grandfather. For and in consideration of the before mentioned sum to me in hand paid by the said Dicks as Executor aforesaid before the sealing and delivering of these presents I do hereby relinquish all the right title, interest, claim or claims and demands whatsoever against the estate of my father, either in law or equity, unto such of my sisters and to their heirs and assigns forever as are entitled to the property both real and personal agreeable to the last will and testament of my father. I the said Thomas do also acknowledge to have received from said Dicks as executor one bay horse valued at one hundred and fifty dollars one feather bed left me by my father which I do acknowledge to be in full of all and every claim against said estate up to this date. With this ?acceptions? only as to the priviledge [sic] of planting at the Yamesee agreeable to the tenor of my father’s will.
