Location: Bryan County, Georgia
On April 3, 1799, in Savannah, Ben. [Benjamin] Butler sold to William Clark and James Jones, executors for the estate of Robert Holms, for $600 “a negro man Slave named Ben a cooper by trade valued by Robert Holm at one hundred guineas which will appear by the agreement and affidavit of Mr. James Kirk with the said Robert Holms..also three years and five months interest on the same making in the whole the above sum of six hundred dollars which I do hereby relinquish all claims, title and interest to the above named negro man Ben.” Witnessed by Isaac Bennedix, G.M. Waters. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on May 7, 1799.
