T.M. Norwood vs. Prince Smith } Ejectment
Original filed in Office this February 17th 1880 [Clerk’s name]
I have this day served the within personally upon the defendant. April 30th 1880 [Sheriff’s name]
State of Georgia, Liberty County }
To the Superior Court of said County
The petition of Thomas M. Norwood showeth that Prince Smith (colored) of said County is in possession of a certain tract of land in said County containing two acres more or less and bounded on the East by land of the said Prince Smith on the South and west by land of petitioner and on the North by land of the estate of E.H. Bacon, deceased, being a party of the tract of land purchased by petitioner from Dr. J.P. Stevens in Walthourville in said County, to which said two acres your petitioner claims title: that the said Prince Smith has received the profits of said land since the first day of January in the year A.D. 1874 of the yearly value of five dollars and refuses to deliver said land to your petitioner or to pay him the profits thereof:
Wherefore your petitioner prays process may issue requiring the said Prince Smith to be and appear at the next Superior Court to be held in and of said County, to answer your petitioner’s complain.

4th. Actually & [word] possession of said land by petitioner and then under and through where he claims, [word] with paper titles, for over thirty years.
