On September 27, 1872, Jacob Monroe’s petition for exemption of personal property was approved, with the following schedule of property attached.

-One ox valued at $20 dols and of a brown color
-one cow & calf valued at $25 dols, red & white spotted
-Ten hens and a few chickens valued at $5 dol
-Eight head of ducks valued at 5 dols
-six head of Turkeys, valued at $5 dols
Ten head of stock hogs marked in one ear smooth crop and underbit and in the other a split
-Household and kitchen furniture bed and bedding and plantation tools valued at $5
-Growing crop of rice, corn & cotton partially gathered and fodder, peas & potatoes valued at $150 dols.
