[Begin Transcript]

As some misunderstanding had taken place between Mrs. Farrar, Saml P. Bayley in right of his wife & Adam Alexander as guardian to Miss Eliza Hext respecting the reversion and division of the remainder of the Estate of John Hext after a liquidation of the debts and whereas the examination of Accts of division of the Negroes were submitted unto us this day 29th April 1801 that is to say to John Bettis chosen by Mrs. Farrar on her part, John B. Girardeau on the part of S.P. Bayley & James Holmes on the part of Adam Alexander as guardian as aforesaid, and as the object of such examination was to ascertain whether the said Bayley & Alexander had done fair & ample Justice to Mrs. E. Farrar on the said Division of property we therefore the above named John Bettis, J.B Girardeau & James Holmes after having examined the accts of division of property made by them, do declare it as our opinion & beliefs that full justice hath been done in the premises but be it here understood that the said Sam’l [Samuel] P. Bayley for himself & heirs of Ad. Alexander as a guardian, do at the same time quit-claim to all that tract of land whereon Mrs. Farrar now lives, known by the name of Belville, the buildings and improvements thereon, together with all and every part of house & kitchen furniture apertaining to the estate of Hext & that to this decision we propose that all parties do put their names as a proof of full approbation & full relinquishment to further investigation in the premises.
