This Indenture, made this the fifth day of Feby [February] in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five, between William N. Way, of the County and State aforesaid, of the one part and Jos. [Joseph] Hargreaves, of the same place of the other part.
Witnesseth, that the said William N. Way, for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt. [receipt] whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell and convey, unto the said Jos. [Joseph] Hargreaves, his heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the county aforesaid, containing one hundred and fifty acres, more or less, situate, lying and being on the South side of the channel of North Newport Swamp, bounded on the North by Samuel Lewis, on the East by Dr. Saml [Samuel] J. Axson, on the South by Jos. [Joseph] Hargreaves, and on the West by And. [Andrew] Walthour deed. To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto him the said Jos. [Joseph] Hargreaves, his heirs and assigns, together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof, to the same in any manner belonging, to his and their own proper use, benefit and behoof, forever, in fee simple, etc I will warrant and defend the same against all claim or claims whatever.
