On April 16, 1821, William Wilson, administrator of the estate of John Winn, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1000 to Thomas Mallard “the seven following slaves; viz. Tom, Peter, Old Billy, Young Billy, Moses, Sampson & Sophia.” Witnessed by Nathaniel Varnedoe. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 23, 1821.
