On February 12, 1821, John M. Smylie, acting as attorney for Simon A. Fraser, sold to Joseph Jones for $504.50 “a certain negro fellow named Caesar, about twenty years of age.” Witnessed by Benjamin Mell Senior, William N. Way. Recorded February 26, 1821.
