On March 10, 1820, James S. Bradwell, planter of Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $3000 to Nathaniel Law, Liberty County, “the following negro slaves, viz. Mary and her child Stephen, Violet and her child Hannah, Lindy and her two children Minda and Sarah, and Diana.” Witnessed by Alexander M. McIver. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 9, 1820.
