On June 4, 1818, Margaret Howell, Liberty County, gifted to her son Thomas Goulding, Chatham County, “my negro boy Jacob for his own proper use and benefit.” Witnessed by Wm. [William] N. Way, Joseph Norman. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 12, 1820.
