Enslaved People Named: Peter

On August 17, 1820, Eugene Bacon, planter of Liberty County, sold for $500 to Daniel M. Stewart, planter of Liberty County, “a negro boy slave named Peter, about the age of twelve years and of a black complexion; also one yoke of well broke oxen, one a dunnish red, and the other speckled; and one horse called Commodore or Copperbottom.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on August 21, 1820.
