On April 8, 1820, Eugene Bacon, Liberty County, used as collateral on promissory notes totalling $352.18, to Uriah Wilcox, same place, “the three following slaves, viz. A female slave named Patty & her two youngest children, named Venus & Franklin, with the increase of the females.” Witnessed by William W. Baker. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 17, 1820.
