On February 7, 1820, Joseph McGowen, planter of Liberty County, sold to John McGowen, planter of Liberty County, for $100 “a certain negro slave named Harry.” Witnessed by Wm. [William] Wilson. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 11, 1820.
