Enslaved People Named: Shem, Abby, Fortune, Tenah, Rose, Sarah

On July 9, 1818,  Nathaniel Law, Liberty County, gifted to his wife Sarah M. Law “the following negro slaves, named Shem, Abby, Fortune, Tenah, Rose, and another wench named Sarah, with the future issue and increase of the female slaves.” These enslaved individuals were put into trust for Sarah with her trustees John Pray, of Bryan County, and Samuel Lewis, of Liberty County. Witnessed by William Law. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on July 17, 1818.
