Enslaved People Named: Lucy, Guy, Jim

On May 15, 1818, Margaret Howell gifted to Sarah Cooper, daughter of Jesse and Maria Cooper, “one negro girl named Lucy.” She also gifted to Stephen Hoyt Cooper, son of Jesse and Maria Cooper, “one negro boy named Guy.” She gave to Jesse Cooper, son of Maria and Jesse Cooper, “one negro boy named Jim.” Witnessed by J. Cooper, William N. Way. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 28, 1818.
