On March [left blank], 1818, John S. Quarterman, planter of Liberty County, gifted to his son William Elliott Way Quarterman “my negro boy slave named Dick, a son of my negro woman slave Dinah.” Witnessed by Lewis Hines, Thomas F. Bacon. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 16, 1818.
