On January 8, 1818, Mary Osgood, Liberty County, gifted to her nephew John Sidney Fleming, the son of William Fleming, also of Liberty County, “a certain female infant negro slave named Phillis.” Witnessed by Oliver Stevens, Eliza Stevens. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 17, 1818.
