On July 7, 1817, John Martin, planter of Liberty County, sold to Jonathan Gaulden, same place, for $1700 “four negro slaves, to wit, Pompey, Charlotte his wife, and their two children Jack and Bob.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 9, 1818.
