On ?? 27, 18?? [date torn], John Elliott, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $15,650 to Charles W. Rogers, same place, “the following negroes viz, Carpenter Bob, Little Bob Tom, Jack, Will, Tom, Joe, March, April, June, July, August, O. Sam, Y. Sam, Peggy, Phebe, Daphney, Priscilla Mariah, Jacob, Isaac, Luke, Jack, Grace Rachel & Robin, June, Goliah, Dublin, Ceasar [alt: Caesar], Pollydore [alt: Polydore], Jack, Jacob, Hagar, Phillis [alt: Phyllis], Murriah, Beck, Tom, Charlotte Flora & Billy,” with three tracts of land in Liberty County known as Fair Lawn [alt: Fairlawn], Rural Felicity & Butler’s [probably Tract], adjoining each other in the Riceborough area and containing a total of 1123 acres, bounded on the north and east by land of Doct. Leconte & Ricehope [Rice Hope], “lately the property of James Smith,” east by land of the Estate of Capt. John Jones, and north and west by land of Thomas Mell, James Smith, and Dr. Leconte. The condition was that the loan be repaid before 1819. Witnessed by Anne Bulloch, John Dunwoody. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 29, 1809
