Enslaved People Named: Nancy, Billy, Lucy
On April 27, 1809, John Alexander Jackson, Liberty County, sold to Amelia Curl, same place, for $5 “a certain negroe wench named Nancy, and her two children Billy and Lucy, also a sorrel mare and colt about one year old and one cow and calf.” Witnessed by James Divine, Jos. Jones. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 15, 1809.
[NOTE: Although not so stated in the deed, it is likely that this is a deed of gift, given the low amount.]
