Enslaved People Named: Edy

On March 16, 1810, John Stewart sold to Capt. P.H. Wilkins “a negroe wench named Edy and her child.” Stewart noted that he was selling them “for the purpose of paying off several judgments obtained against me at the Sup. [Superior] Court in Nov. Last.” Witnessed by Jos. Wilson. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 19, 1810.
