On April 12, 1808, William Whitehead, Burke County, sold to Moses Way for $320 “a certain Negro wench by the name of Peg, formerly the proeprty of Gideon Dowse Jun’r and which by a Division of his Estate became vested in me in right of my wife…” WItnessed by Nathan Dryer. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 26, 1808.
