On July 14, 1804, Nathan Dryer, of Sunbury, Liberty County, gifted to his son John Edmund Hext Dryer “a certain negro boy named Adam…[and] a certain negro female slave named Louisa with her future issue and increase…” Witnessed by Adam Alexander, Alexander Forrester, William E. Steuart. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on September 8, 1804.
